All Aboard the POLAR EXPRESS...

A tank of gas $80. New tires for a road trip $750. Monkey pajamas for the ninos $60. Being pulled over by half the Williams police dept. while your friends drive by laughing and your child does the potty dance in the back of the suburban.....priceless. (I'm only guessing that 2 squad cars make up half of the Williams police force, but it is possible it could be all of the Williams police force.) Even with our tangle with the law we made it to the Polar Express on time and had a great time singing Christmas songs, eating cookies, visiting Santa, and hanging out with our friends the Weavers and Grimsleys.

Reindeer Farm

According to Cooper the deer farm was the "best part" of our trip to the Polar Express. I have to agree that it was lots of fun feeding the deer, touching the camel, and checking out the reindeer and other cool animals. Cooper almost went head to head with an angry little goat....I still don't know who would have won. And if we would have known that we were going to meet Donkey from the Shrek movies we would have brought something for him to autograph! I guess just a picture with him will have to due.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Here's to the best mom ever! She is not only my mother but my best friend. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful person in my life. She is one of the most giving and selfless people I know. I can always count on her and I love her deeply.

I hope you have a great day. Love you so much mom.

Mischievous Trio

I only left them alone for 10 minutes maybe, and I go to check on them and the boys decided it would be funny to draw a mustache on their sister and then do it to themselves. I panicked because in about 30 minutes we have to leave to go to soccer and T-ball practice and I was praying that the marker would come off. They even seemed to color Tatum's tongue!

I told them they were in big trouble, but I don't think they took me seriously when I started taking pictures of them.

New York, New York

Tatum and I had a fabulous time in New York. I couldn't have asked for a better time. I was amazed at how good Tatum was on the trip and she made it quite enjoyable. We did a lot of shopping, Chinatown was quite the experience, and the double-decker bus tour was very relaxing. I think my favorite part of the trip was seeing Tatum get so excited over the dolls at "The American Girl" store. I have never seen her get so exited before. It was hilarious. Thank you so much Mom and Dad for taking us to New York, we had a great time!!

More pictures to come! (have to get them from Gretch)

Just Some Fun in the Sun Pics

Okay so I'm not the best blogger and I'm terrible at updating. However I just uploaded some pictures of the kids swimming and they turned out really cute. I love the pictures of Tatum. So the boys are very sad that the water is too cold to swim in now and they ask to go to the hot pool but the heater isn't working. I sure hope they don't forget everything they learned this summer because it is amazing how well they can swim now!

Getting Ready for Halloween

This weekend the boys helped me get out all the Halloween stuff and we decorated the front door. Chandler wants to be a pirate this year and Cooper wants to be Superman. Cooper asked me to make his costume and I tried many times to show him some cool ones at the store with muscles built in but he still insists on me making it. So it's still in the works but here's a sneak peak and Tatum is going to be a Pirate Diva. I had a really good time making her costume and I will post pictures of her later. Hopefully Cooper won't be disappointed at the end and who knows he might change his mind and wear the "stretchy pants" that Chandler is too embarrassed to wear in a picture and be Nacho Libre!

New York Here We Come!!

Well schools out for fall break and Tatum and I are getting ready to go to New York City. I don't know who is more excited me or the boys. The boys can't wait for boys night out with dad and I can't wait for cooler weather, sight seeing, and of course shopping! It's going to be an adventure taking Tatum. Thanks again mom and dad!

The "Real" Roadhouse

Last Saturday the boys and Tatum went out for a night on the town with their Grandma and Papa (Yeah! Mom and Dad's night out!). After seeing some cool things at the Bass Pro Shop (Well Cooper thought the real stuffed animals were cool but Chandler just admired them nervously from a far.) Chandler asked to eat some "BBQ", a.k.a. steak which is his favorite. So they loaded up and headed to Logan's Roadhouse. When they arrived everyone began unloading except for Chandler. "This isn't the roadhouse I like." Grandma then tried to convince him that this is the roadhouse he likes and that they had good "BBQ". Chandler still firmly refused to unbuckle his seat belt. So finally in desperation or exhaustion or both Grandma tried what every self respecting grandparent and parent has tried.....thinking quick on her feet she lied. She told him that the sign said Texas Roadhouse (which is Chandler's "favorite roadhouse"). Little did Grandma know that Chandler has been learning to read at school and that he is pretty good at it too! Leaning just far enough over to read the sign on the building he said, "No it's not Grandma this is Logan's Roadhouse, the Texas Roadhouse doesn't start with the letter L." After attempting to swing by a very crowded Texas Roadhouse Chandler suggested just going to Howies. "You know Grandma, the place where you call in the pizza and then just pick it up." Needless to say the night ended with pizza from Hungry Howies the place where you call in the pizza and just pick it up. We learned a few things from this episode.......First, never lie to your children or grandchildren if they are old enough or smart enough to figure out the lie. We suggest going to school curriculum night so you can stay ahead of the game. Second, Texas Roadhouse is our favorite roadhouse (If someone that works there sees this posting please feel free to send free stuff!) And finally, we are not above changing roadhouses if Logan's would send us some free stuff! Ahhhhhh, the lessons we learn in kindergarten.

Old Faithful ... (a.k.a. Diet Coke)

Thanks to John Weaver he topped off our Labor Day weekend with a great show. Early this afternoon we got a phone call from our awesome neighbors, The Weavers, and said we had forty-five minutes till blast off. I went to tell the boys to get their clothes on because we are about to see a Diet Coke Geyser about to go off. Chandler of course asking, "What's a Geyser?" and Cooper saying, "yippee! Let's go!" So we walk outside and Becky has the strollers lined up with chairs on the side waiting for the show to start and here we all were camped out in front of the house watching John and Stephen setting things up. Of course we had some curious bystanders and of course it was way cool. So THANKS to John for letting us join in on your fun and giving us an eventful weekend to remember. Next three day weekend it's our turn. Steve says, "Watch out neighbors, POOL SHOCK AND BRAKE FLUID!" ...I'll keep you posted.

SUMMER DAYS

I CAN... I WILL... I'LL TRY...

4 days of crying + 3 days of screaming and kicking + 9 days of listening and trying = 2 great swimmers.

This summer Chandler and Cooper took 16 days of swim lessons from Coach Carlson. After day 4 and Chandler waking up in the middle of the night screaming, "No Coach, please no!" we decided to continue lessons and boy are we sure glad we did. Chandler and Cooper can now swim! Chandler knows three strokes: freestyle, backstroke, and the breast stroke and Cooper can swim to the wall and float around the pool without any fear. We are so excited for them and they love to swim. Last week we went to a pool party at a public pool and both Chandler and Cooper jumped off the diving board. We were so proud of them because there was no way they would of done it 2 months ago. Way to go Coach! You helped my boys gain confidence in themselves and made swimming so much more fun!
